Celebrating new beginnings: how to plan your spring wedding

Spring represents new beginnings as well as emerging from winter's hibernation with energy and enthusiasm for what comes next – the perfect time to start your life together as a married couple. Not only that, but its warmer weather and increased daylight hours make it one of the most popular seasons for weddings - you get the opportunity of sunshine, but at the same time the spring season tends to be less busy than the summer, both for your venue and suppliers, as well as for your guests - there'll be no concerns of summer holiday clashes and the like.

Although spring provides the prospect of glorious weather, UK springtime is notoriously unpredictable, so it's important to account for this when planning your spring wedding. April showers are a well-known occurrence, so if you're going for an outdoor wedding, ensure there's plenty of undercover areas and umbrellas available for your guests. You may also wish to provide blankets in case the evening becomes chilly. Although there's an element of unpredictability, spring weather is typically much milder, so there's no fears for melting make up or the groom getting uncomfortably warm in his suit!

Spring weddings are certainly joyful occasions and we're completely enthused by these fun and exciting spring wedding ideas, so we had to share them with you…

Flower Power

If you think of springtime, flowers and floral patterns most likely come to mind. As nature ‘re-awakens', we find ourselves drawn to the bright colours - full of life and anticipation. Peonies, anemone, sweet peas and tulips are common spring flowers. Peonies, with their typically white, yellow and pink shades, exude springtime romance, while tulips could provide a quirky, brighter style of bouquet.

However, it's not just your bouquet where you can incorporate pretty spring flowers into your wedding – you could use a floral pattern in your stationery, hire a flower wall for your guests to take entertaining selfies with, decorate your venue with cherry blossom trees or design a stunning floral head piece – the opportunities are endless!

Seasonal Produce

Spring brings with it fresh, colourful and absolutely delicious culinary treats, but with the warmer weather, lighter food options can be preferred, such as Mediterranean style grazing boards – we love the mezze sharing boards and assorted flatbreads from our Feast Menu.

Bright, citrusy cocktails are the perfect addition to your spring wedding. Why not ask your Memory Maker about having a signature cocktail made just for you, that you can share with your guests on the day, or go all out with either the Gin Bar or Bubbly Bar from our Wish List

Quirky Additions

Make your spring wedding an unforgettable day for your guests by giving them a unique experience such as hiring a petting zoo with cute and furry baby animals - the perfect nod to spring!

Why not include a vintage bike with a basket full of flowers that your guests can take photos with, or make their own flower crown from?

When it comes to wedding favours, there's so many fun spring themed options, such as personalised seed packets, infused gin miniatures or floral scented candles.

If you're planning your spring wedding, don't hesitate to get in touch with our Memory Makers to talk through your options!
